Former capital city,Kolkata is popular for its traditional, cultural and artistic crowd. Although poverty is certainly apparent. The self-made local folks who belong to the old colonial era are much into literature, art and music. The language spoken here is Bengali which is the sweetest from the other languages. Kolkata is an ideal place for the Bengali cuisine like maccher jhol & street food like jhal muri, golgappa’s & for the sweet lovers, no one can stop eating Rasogulla, Kacha Golla, Mishti Doi etc.
The architecture contrasts distinctly with urban slums and suburbs of new town with multiplexes and air conditioned shopping malls.
Famous places must visited are Hoogly River, Victoria Memorial (from old Britishers era), Kali Mandir, Kumar Toli etc. The city is famous for its bright colourful Pujo (Durga Puja). The preparation starts from long before the festival starts by the sculptors which are decorated in the puja pandals.
Kolkata is known as the city of Joy because of its socio cultural background & people find a way of their happiness, major population of Kolkataans are intellectual & are indulged into extra-curricular education like singing, dancing, literature, drama, theater, painting etc.
There maybe Uber and Ola now but the feel of riding in the iconic yellow taxi can’t match to those.
The lifestyle here can’t match to other cities even from where I belong and it’s economical too.

Vintage or Vulnerable???

Indian Handloom products are known for their unique designs and finesse. Handlooms are operated by the skilled artisan. Fabrics are woven on the Handloom by interlacing & filling of warp (length wise) & weft (width wise).

Handloom Industry is the second largest employment provider for the rural population in India after agriculture. Indian Handlooms are diminishing at alarming rate & becoming lost in the race. Decades of poorly-implemented protection policies and the growth of power loom imitations has led to the slow downfall of the

handloom sector. Now the current situation is that the artisans are trying to survive the heritage and the GOV is trying to revive the lost identity of the Handloom and many more such industries by the concept of Made in India to endorse Indian Homegrown.

COUNTRYSIDE CALLING !

British Country Side Clothing represents the rural gentlemen & women. Many elements of the countryside fashion are used by the modern designers like the tweed jackets, the trousers, boots, flap caps.

The traditional countryside fashion color palette consists olive, navy blue, grey & gingham prints are quite common.

Countryside fashion style showcases the elegant & sophisticated rural & suburban clothing desires. Although they are farm inspired styles, this goes quite well with Wellington boots. Adding Brogues makes the look complete with the jackets & tweed coats for men. Considering the geographic region, tweed coats are perfect for countryside fashion. Giving them warmth and style statement both.

Floral fashion with the subtle tone or tone prints, pastels are now back in trend. Floral denim can be paired up with the cute sneakers. It can go well with the round glasses giving playful look for the springs. Complimenting it with the embellished sling bag or a fringe bag is pretty enough to complete the entire look.

Pairing it with printed denim jacket makes it more casual & trendy. Just don’t be afraid to mix prints on prints. But make sure that the prints are quite similar in look which creates a balance in the look.
